Survey Technician

Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Survey Technician to join our Aberdeen base. The successful candidate will report to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible for ensuring our rental equipment is maintained to a high standard and ready for deployment.

In addition to working in the Aberdeen base, this role will require work away from the base and will involve working in other NOR bases as well as client vessels. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in electronic engineering principles, techniques and practices with offshore survey experience using geophysical positioning or ROV equipment. The applicant will need to demonstrate a confident “can do” attitude in a fast-paced environment and must be a team player. The applicant will need to be an excellent communicator and offer exceptional attention to detail.

Main duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Rental (onshore)

• Preparing and testing of equipment prior to rental and post hire.
• Function testing, software / firmware updates, cable integrity.
• Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists.
• Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment returned from hire.
• Visual inspection, function testing and writing technical reports.
• Identification of in-house or external repair tasks.
• Preparing all assets to ensure they are ready for delivery to clients at short notice.
• General warehouse and delivery duties.

Mobilisations / Demobilisations

• Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment on mobilisation
• Setup, interface, function test on mobilisation
• Troubleshoot to successful conclusion
• Assist offshore survey team as required
• Demobilise, check, inspect and document equipment prior to dispatch back to base
• Attend Offshore training and undergo an Offshore medical (if required)

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of electronic engineering principles, techniques and practices.
• Experience in working with survey equipment.
• Experience of asset tracking databases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work remotely with relevant IT access.
• Knowledge of interfacing survey sensors with acquisition software.
• Ability to work unsupervised on basic projects.
• Ability to operate survey equipment as part of a mobilisation survey team.
• Ability to work efficiently and safely under pressure and to deadline.
• Passionate to develop and progress in an industry recognised technology company.
• The successful candidate must hold a Full UK Driving licence.
• Any Previous ROV Hydraulic Tooling would be advantageous but not essential.
